The Rushworth Community House's webDotWizards are always at the forefront of using new features in software and last Friday week was no exception. On loading their MSN Spaces, everybody noticed there'd been changes with new tools to help make their Spaces more friendly to visitors. MSN Spaces has always been a useful and time-saving way to share photos with family and friends. A new feature enables you to add a description to whichever photos you want to. So no more making a blog entry to describe a series of photos (handy for art and craft people showing off their works, for example). There's also an option for visitors to leave a comment on any of your photos. As well, rather than a space limit on how many photos you can upload, there's a monthly allowance of five hundred photos that can be uploaded. Another new feature enables you to search other Spaces for people with similar interests to your own. To accomplish this, you'll need to edit your profile and add a list of words or phrases so that visitors can click one of your keyword interests to let the Spaces search engine find other people's Spaces. A more important aspect of your profile entry is Live Contacts. This addon lets you choose who you want to share your contact information with and automatically updates any of this information when you change it. That is, if you change your phone number, for example, all those people with whom you've decided to share your contact information see your new phone number without you needing to personally inform them. In your profile you enter as much or as little information as you choose (note you can enter 255 as your age!). As well, each section has a drop down list from which you to choose whether your contact information is to be shared with people on your Messenger list (that will suit most of us) or Public (if your Space is used for your business). Your contact information becomes available to those on your Messenger list and when they view your contact card they'll see your email address and phone numbers. Why phone numbers? Because if they want to phone you they'll be able to use Messenger's VoIP phone service. Here are some sites to get you started:
